UCLA Baseball #1 in the Nation

Ever since the alleged & erroneous Title IX scare, the UCLA baseball team has been dominating foes. They were rewarded today with the #1 ranking in the nation after taking two out of three versus Oregon State this weekend.

Rob Rasmussen, Gerrit Cole, Trevor Bauer & Garett Claypool keep dominating (20-2 combined record), forming the most fearsome starting staff in the nation, and perhaps one of the greatest ever at the collegiate level. The balanced offense is led by Dean Espy & Tyler Rahamatulla, though everybody is hitting well.

At 25-3, this team is stronger than any of the previous John Savage incarnations, and you’d need to go back to the Glaus/Utley/Atkins/Valent/Zamora era to find a UCLA squad this feared nationally. Trust YKI to keep a close eye on the ongoings at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
