UCLA Baseball: Dominating with Pitching. . .and Offense

The UCLA Bruins baseball team is off to a 16-0 start behind the Ace pitching duo of Trevor Bauer & Gerrit Cole. The highest touted Bruin pitcher, however, may be southpaw Rob Rasmussen, who is relegated to their weekday pitcher. . .even though he’s K’d 30 in 19 innings and was last year’s ace. Oh yeah, his 2.79 ERA is the highest on the team.

The start is good for a #12 national ranking, and if the .190 opponent’s batting average against isn’t enough to strike fear in opposing team’s hearts, the 144 to 37 total runs advantage shows nothing short of TRUE domination.

With Jackie Robinson Stadium renovated and ready to be under the lights on The Road to Omaha.

Oh yeah, the offense isn’t too bad either. The sophomores are leading the offense to their 9 run/game clip, as catcher Steve Rodriguez, third baseman Dean Espy and shortstop Tyler Rahmatulla pace the Bruin Aluminum, all with batting averages hovering around the .400 mark.
