The Count:

This game comes down to Kobe winning the game. If Kobe beats Boston, he will be on the same pedestal as Jordan!

He was consumed after they lost in 2008. He got some salvation in 2009. But, the ultimate redemption for Kobe is Game 7 beating the Celtics. Watch for Kobe to have a big night! 40+ points. All kinds of ridiculous shots!

Lakers by 4-7.

AnaheimLoverKC:

Simpson:

Q1 – s go up 6 in the first few mins, but Lakers come back and end the quarter up 6
Q2 – Tempers rise, at least one T is issued in this quarter. Allen hits one or two threes, but not enough to dominate. Lakers up 2
Q3 – Pau has a big quarter, but still looks soft at times, Artest misses shots he shouldn’t be taken, meanwhile Big Baby is looking to Nate to provide him a bib because he’s dribbling…and by dribbling I don’t mean a basketball, I mean like drooling. Celtics by 2
Q4 – Big back and forth. Kobe takes over early and dominates, later in the quarter he facilitates racking a few assists on fast breaks facilitated by steals by him and Artest. Lakers down 1 with 28 secs left, Celtics ball. They dribble down the clock and shoot it with 6 secs left, tumble for the rebound, Bynum comes up big and grabs it, passess it to Kobe with a second left. Kobe faces the crowd and heaves the ball into the stands where it goes out the tunnel, off the refreshment stand, outside, off the statue of Magic, up over the balcony of the outside bar for the suites, continues through Buss’ suite, down back to the court, of Jack’s sunglasses, off the scoreboard, towards the basket, off the backboard and in, nothing but the bottom of the net as the horn blows. Refs review the play and rule that it counts. Lakers win, pierce is wheeled off in his wheelchair that he has had standing by at the end of the bench all series.

Buffalo JC:Kobe will never be considered the greatest Laker until he beats the Celtics. Kobe playing with a dominate player like Shaq for 3 of his 4 championships kinda takes away from Kobe. Plus Jordan beat Drexlers Blazers, Magics Lakers ( Magic was on way out ) Stockton and Malone, Barkleys Suns, and Kemp and Payton Sonics being the worse of the 6. Kobe beat Iversons 76ers(one man team), The Nets. Enough said. Magic with out their star PG. Reggies Pacers being the best of the bunch. So I say no my friend. You can’t be one of the greatest players ever if your not even the greatest player in your franchise history.

JoeyKnuckles:As for LA vs BOS, here is how I see it. Following a post game 5 tirade by Mr. Bean Bryant screaming, “I need some-fucking-one to make a stand with me” the team response and response in huge way. Gasol realizes he is not playing in the world cup and thus stops being a pussy and flopping around like an English forward- he goes for 25+ with 15 boards. The Black Momba is his usual self and chips in 38ish while providing some lock down D that energizes the rest of the troops. The Celtics will make a slight push late 3rd early 4th but the victory will pretty much be in hand from the start. Lakers win by 20+

Game 7 is a totally different story. Much lower scoring, grind-it-out type of play with most players being timid on the game 7 stage- saved for Pierce and Bryant who exchange basket for basket most of the night. However, home court advantage prevails, and a Laker-not named Kobe- makes a huge shot with under 10 secs to secure the victory and a parade in LA.

There will be rioting in either LA or Boston. Poverty will continue to exist. The oil leak in the Gulf won’t be stopped. The sun will rise the next day.

No Perkins = Lakers ring

Kiddp:

Game 7 comes down to pure will, energy, and mental strength.  If the Lakers come out playing passionate TEAM defense, dominating the glass, and playing with crisp rapid passing and dribble penetration on offense, then Boston doesn’t have a chance.  This game cannot be the Kobe show, which was proven in games 4 and 5.  Artest needs to stop thinking on offense and just react, Gasol needs to think score first and pass second when he gets the ball in the post, Bynum needs to to play through the pain now that there is no next game to save him for, Fish needs to be Fish,   Odom needs to believe in himself for one more game, Sasha needs to oil the machine and harrass on defense, Farmar needs to continue to penetrate on offense, Brown needs to fly once more to inspire the crowd,   Walton needs to ride the pine, and Mbenga needs to bang!

Lakers by 12. . .that’s my complex, analytical commentary

Brammy:

Without Perkin’s defensive tenacity Boston’s needs huge offensive performances from its big 4 (Rondo,Allen,Pierce,Garnett).

Pau Gasol- keep the beautiful left handed hook shots coming.

Lamar – wipe the glass and drop in 10. If Perkins is out of there I expect you to control the boards. If Glen is on you show us why you’re the best 6-10 ball handler on the floor.

Ron Ron – Hit the open shots that you hit in game six, they will still be there in game 7.

Shannon, Sasha and Jordan – keep doing what you did in game 6. Play hard, be quick and be involved.

Drew – Which Drew is going to show up? We won when you scored 2 points. How about you throw down 10 pts and 10 boards, if you do we can’t lose.

Kobe….don’t need to tell you anything

Lakers 95 Celtics 91

BGokBgipGuuuh:

I will not assume that the “bench mob” will be there tomorrow night; I will not assume that Odom will continue to awaken and produce; I will not assume that Artest will hit wide open jumpers that Boston’s sure to give him; and I will not assume that the same passion and fire witnessed in Game 6 but absent for Game 5 and most of Game 4 will be present. However, I will hope the “bench mob” returns; I will hope to see Odom step up again; I will hope that Artest will put the “pro-Ariza” chatter to rest; and I will hope the same passion and fire is duplicated. If my hopes are realized, then the Lakers win Game 7 in another blow-out.

This is going to be one of the greatest games in history of sport. Kobe vs. Celtics, exorcising the ghosts? I dont think so. Garnett and Allen and Pierce will step the F*CK up and destroy the Lakers dreams again!

Fisher will hit a big shot.
    Ron Artest will be tough.
The lakers will be crazy hyped and pumped and wint his big big big time.
    GO LAKERSSSSSSSSS
    !!!!!!!

Fisher said it best… The team cant expect Kobe to wear everybodys jersey, they all have to contribute. That said, Kobe will be seen as the champion that he is tonight. He sheer will to win in second to non, and his critics will be silenced tonight.

Since I will be at game 7 – here is my prediction:
    Kobe goes off with 40+
    Gasol gets his triple-double
Odom show’s why he is such an important component to this team with 12+ rebounds
Artest validates his entire season with a performance that WILL finally get him a ring.
Fisher once again hit’s shots that have given him 4 rings
Farmar/Brown providing defensive/dunk highlights for ESPN!

This will truly be a magical day for laker’s fans!!!

Prediction – Game 7 (Lakers vs Boston)

*Kobe’s play continues to elevate his status from superstar to greatest Laker ever. Continuing fuel the debate of Jordan vs Kobe. (kobe goes for 31, 6 rebounds, 6 assists)

*Gasol – has a solid game, Garnett tries to clamp down on him. I think the Celts tighten up the screws around him so i dont see Gasol going crazy. Maybe like (16pts,10 rebounds)

*Bynum – has somewhat of an impact in the 1st half – no appearance in the 2nd – as knee is not where it needs to be. *Artest played well however if he doesn’t get off to a good start, he wil hesitate to shoot and will be liability on the offensive end. i see him playing tough d and shooting sparingly.

Celts – Rondo will have to take over the game, i think he will have a big game – 18pts,11assists, 4 rebounds. if he can’t hit the jumper and shoot over 30% from the free throw line its over.

Pierce – will have a better game. i expect him to be the leading scorer for the celts.

allen’s shooting has been hit or miss. last game was decent for him. I expect him to have a solid shooting night.

Garnett – is the deal breaker – he plays big, they got a chance – if not they’re done.

I’m picking the Lakers to win it. score – 98-95

On TV, Magic is just sitting back with that big smile thinking, ” I beat the Celtics!”

Kobe has to step up or it will haunt him forever. Just ask Jerry West!!!!
